MONEY EXCHANGE

Morocco dirham this week

The currency of Morocco is the dirham, MAD.

To change you money, it is best to go to banks or exchange offices. There are many banks in Morocco, all operating with equal exchange rates, and without commission.

ATMs are also widely available throughout most Moroccan cities, VISA and MasterCard being the most widely accepted foreign credit or debit cards. Call your credit card provider before leaving your country to inform them that you will be using your card in another country.

Credit cards can be used in some shops, restaurants, and even Souks of old medina, but this is not always the case. More times than not, only cash is accepted; let us suggest to you to carry small amounts of cash (300-600 DH) with you at all times and use your card only when retrieving money from banks or ATMs.

Live rates as of 2008.07.01 09:55:36 UTC

1 EUR = 11.4790 MAD                  1 MAD = 0.0871153 EUR
